Nara resides at the Andhra Mahila Sabha in Chennai, and has cerebral palsy, resulting in a loss of function in his arms. He uses his feet to hold the paintbrush while he paints, with this unusual motion, he is able to create rich, colourful paintings with a distinctive textured look. Nara also loves working with all forms of art including embroidery.
